Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
In the meantime boil the potatoes for 10 minutes and the brocolli for 5-10 minutes in boiling water or until tender.
While these are boiling heat a frying pan under medium heat and grease with 1 tablespoon of Hillfarm Spreadable butter.
Add in the onion, and stir for 2 minutes until soft, then add in the rest of the Hillfarm Spreadable Butter, flour, black pepper and salt and blend until a thick paste consistency. Once this is mixed add in the milk slowly until the mix is a creamy consistency. Keep stiring the mixture and add in all of the milk and turn up the heat until the mixture reaches boil.
Simmer and stir continuously so the sauce thickens. After a few minutes reduce the heat and stir in the cheese until melted and the sauce is thick.
Then add the potatoes, ham (optional), broccoli and sauce to a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle the parmesan cheese on top and bake for 20-25 minutes.
When finished the bake should be golden on top and the potatoes tender.
